It's great you want to become an IAS officer which is a very prestigious post to serve the nation.

Indian Administrative Services (IAS) is a national level competition exam conducted by UPSC annually to recruit candidates for civil services like IPS, IFS (Foreign), IAAS, IRS, IDAS, CAPF-AF and others.

>The IAS Exam Pattern consists of three stages:-

-1st stage :-- Prelims

-2nd Stage :- IAS Mains

-3rd Stage :- Interview/ Personality Test

>The lower age limit for appearing in IAS Exams is 21 years, while upper age limit is 32 years.

>Age relaxation :-

-SC/ST- Upto 5 years

-OBC- Upto 3 years

-Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities- Upto 3 years

-Ex-servicemen- Upto 5 years

>Eligibility criteria

-You must hold a graduate degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university with minimum 50%

>Only six attempts are allowed for a candidate to clear IAS Exam

Hope this helps you

If now you are 17 ...so you may be in class X/XI
First complete your high school then take admission in any University/ College of your choice in your favourite streams and  keep try to in touch with  all the NCERT's from class 6th to 12th .
After completing your Graduation from any Recognised University/College in any Stream  with Minimum 50% you are eligible to appear  for UPSC.
Or
after completing your graduation you may take Private coaching from Coaching centres for preparation of UPSC.

Dear Sanjana,

In order to become an IAS officer, you have to take UPSC exam and that consists of three stages.

First stage is preliminary exam which is conducted in June - July each year.

Second stage is main exam which is conducted in October each year.

Third stage is personality test basically it's an interview and held in December each year.
