All the best
To be an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) Officer a candidate must give entrance exam (Civil Services Examination) conducted by UPSC.
Eligibility is that a candidate must be a graduate from any of the field. The field can be anything B. Tech, BSc, B. A, B. Com or any other graduation course.
Now since you are in Science you have an option to go in any field be it Science or Arts or Commerce. Professional courses like B. Tech, MBBS will not provide time to a student for the preparation of Civil Services Examination (CSE). That doesn't mean you cannot choose it. Just make sure you plan everything before.
You can also go for BSc in pure sciences if you have interest in studying them and simultaneously also prepare for the CSE. Although B.A is considered to be the best course if a candidate wants to give CSE this is because B. A will comprise of subjects such as History, Geography, etc (or any other depending on the combination chosen) it helps in CSE. Also in B. A a student has more time to prepare for the entrance.
At the end of the day it will depend upon you as to how you plan studies. It's not compulsory to take B. A so Choose where your interest lies and with which course you will be able to manage time for entrance.
