This is not at all that only engineers can crack Civil services exam, fact is that if you have determination and strategy then you can crack any of the entrance examination or even any examination of life as well so don't worry just go ahead in whatever you feel is good for you there is no any restriction that only engineers can crack CSE if you opt for any other field like Architecture or Defense sector then also you will be eligible for CSE because basic eligibility criteria only demands the graduation degree from any recognized university/institution.
But if you want to go for engineering without JEE-Main then also there are options you can go for some private colleges by appearing for either entrance examinations or on the basis of merit in 10+2 :-
