Hey ,
Greetings!

Indian Navy has a lot of entries for B.Tech graduates.

Since you are in the final year, I will advise you to apply through UES Navy. The form dates have ended as of now but keep your ears open towards any campus rounds by Indian Navy in your city. Talk to your Training and Placement Office for the same. You can appear offline and fill details later.

Navy-UES is a good entry for candidates doing B.Tech. You can apply for GS(X), Pilot, SSC-Tech, etc. as per to your interest.

CDS is the best entry to join Indian Navy since it offers PC in GS(X) to all the candidates unlike UES which offers PC in GS(X) to limited candidates and rest are given SSC. For that you will have to clear the UPSC written which needs some special preparation. If you go through CDS, you could go on to the top echelons of Indian Navy (if you perform well).

There are individual SSC entries for GS(X), Tech, Submarine, Pilot/Observer, NAIC, Education, Logistics, ATC but you can apply after you have passed out from your college. You will have to wait for 1 year to apply for these entries.

So, now best thing is to be ready for UES-Navy Campus Placements. And CDS 2016 2 dates are gone now, but fill up the form of CDS 2017 1 in Nov/Dec 2016.

In all the entries mentioned above, you will have to go through Service Selection Board (SSB) which is a 5 day interview procedure consisting of two stages. It is a personality test and not some knowledge testing, there are 15 Officer Like Qualities(OLQs) which are desired in SSB. The assessors will recommend you for the service, and then you will have to go through medicals. The SSB procedure is very extensive, all the instructions as to what is to be done will be given by assessors there. I will advise you to not worry about the test components but know the qualities that are desired in you and inculcate them through activities at your college. As a general advice, brush up your general knowledge and work on physical fitness.

Feel free to ask further in the comments. All the best :)
