Being completely honest,

1. The placement for cusat last year for cse was about 10 lpa highest and 7.46 lpa in average, I don’t think this is a realistic representation of cusat. The reasons being that the students that entered college 4 years back and the quality of students coming now is drastically different, if u just take a look at the cutoff for the past few years and its clearly rising (nearly by half).
2. Very good companies have come for placement at cusat like oracle, google and other e commerce companies like amazon,flipkart and snapdeal. But the thing is very few students qualify the interviews and end up with jobs, the main reasons being good programmers don’t break the 8.5 cgpa criteria and those who break it don’t do well in interviews for their lack of programming skills.
3. There are exceptions and those exceptional students have cracked the interview and got placed in good companies like there a student this year who got placed in IBM with a 36 lpa package, and several others have also got good placements in off campus recruitment that don’t get reported by cusat.

So if u are worried about placements, you dont need to as i think more and more companies and lot more students will get placed in the coming future.
