Don't listen to others and select the subject based on the following points:
1. Your interest and liking for the subject
2. The subject's relevance in your career path that you have planned for
If you are interested in Mathematics and it will be relevant for your future plans regarding your career then go for it.
If you are not interested but it will be relevant for your career, then also go for it.
If you are interested but it will not benefit your career then don't go for it.
Mathematics and Physics both have their different career opportunities. The combination is good but not the only one. PCB is also an equally rewarding option.
