HI,

there is no issue for having commerce in 12th you should be glad to know that you have economics which is having a good portion in upsc syllabus,

UPSC is an organisation which conduct civil service exam for the post of IAS, IPS etc.

maths doesn't have much role expect in CSAT paper II.

* for the degree, purpose go for the subject you like the most because you have to study a lot deep into the topic which can be possible if you have an interest in it.

* first of all analyse the upsc syllabus nicely which all major subject is covered and can be covered from your subject of interest as well as for your optional subject.

* if you choose to have a degree in economics (if you like this subject )you can also focus in economic service exams, rbi grade II as a safe side for future prospects with IAS preparation also.

well, bachelor of arts in a subject like history, politics, humanity etc said to have another good portion in upsc but that doesn't mean they only crack this exam, as this exam ask passion, dedication and proper planning.
