I would like to know regarding the State Quota rule for Tamil Nadu. My son moved out of the state in 5th std and apprearing for 12th this year. My wife and I are native of TN and we have all required documents. Can I apply native certificate for my son so he can be eligible for TN quota?

Hello sir,
To get admission under state quota a candidate must have live for 5 years continuously in Tamil Nadu. And if a candidate studied in a State other than Tamilnadu from class 10th to 12th then they must provide Nativity certificate stating that the candidate is a resident of Tamilnadu. So, if your son has Nativity certificate and birth certificate stating he is born in Tamilnadu and resided for atleast 5 years continuously then he is eligible for state quota seat.

Thank you for the response, madam. My son studied 8 years outside Tamil Nadu. He has the birth certificate, but we are yet to apply Native Certificate. Is he still eligible to for TN quota if he has both these certificates, despite studying outside the state for 8 years?
