To be eligible for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination, you must be at least 21 years old on August 1 of the exam year.

  • For UPSC Prelims 2026 : You will turn 21 on July 2026, so you will be eligible to appear for the exam.

  • For UPSC Prelims 2027 : You will also be eligible as you'll be over 21 by the time of the exam.

So, you can appear for both UPSC Prelims in 2026 and 2027.

Hello,

To be eligible for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam, you must be at least 21 years old by August 1 of the exam year.

Since you were born in July 2005, you will turn 21 in July 2026, making you eligible to give the UPSC Prelims in 2027, but not in 2026.

Hope it helps!
