If I didn't study physics well in class 11, is it possible to understand class 12 physics?

Hi Umair,

The physics syllabus for classes 11 and 12 is based on a fundamentally new domain. You do not need to consider about 11th physics if you are merely studying for the 12th board. It will have no bearing on your preparation for the board. However, if you're studying for NEET or JEE, the class 11th curriculum is crucial because questions with mixed topics are frequently asked.

There are a few subjects in 12th physics where the main notion will be applied:

  • Vectors
  • Oscillations and waves
  • Dimensions and unit
  • Particles' System (especially concept of torque and conservation of angular momentum)
  • Integration and differentiation at their most fundamental levels

Hey there

It will create some difficulty for you to study physics in class 12th. However I have seen many students who have completed their 11th class without physics and opt physics in 12th as subject but have scored very well percentages in 12 with physics. The main subject which you study in 11th class is mathematics which matters because it is the toughest subject and not Physics. However for being good in physics in 12th class you have to study well and need a lot of Practice and guidance of a qualified teacher.

Hi,

Initially you may find it difficult to understand few concepts of Class 12 because some topics may be the continuation or advanced level of the concepts of Class 11. So, try to know the basics of Class 11 by reaching out to your physics teacher or you can also learn them through internet, where you can find many tutors who teach basics of class 11 physics. Once you understand the basics you can easily follow the concepts of Class 12.

Also, see the topics which has more weightage in the exam and prepare those topics first so that it helps you to save time.

checkout the below link to see the weightage of each topic in Physics.
