If I don't have psychology as a subject in class 12th, can I still do bachelor in psychology? I have English, Maths, Eco, Business, Accounts

Yes, you can still do your Bachelor in Psychology.


About Bachelor of Arts (BA) Psychology:

  • BA in psychology is an undergraduate level programme which goes on for a duration of three years.
  • The eligibility required for this course is the completion of 12th grade examinations with a minimum of 50% and with English as a core subject.
  • This course basically allows a student to analyse how the mind works in different situations, how it formulates perception, and what are the external and internal factors which influence the working of the human brain.
  • Admission are done both offline and online. There is no standardised examination for this course. Individual universities release application forms, immediately after this they announce their cut-off and accordingly all formalities are done. The forms are released mid-May after the announcements of most of the 12th results from most of India's recognised boards.
  • After the applying candidate satisfies the set cut-off, the students are called to universities for an university based written examination, then there is a personal interview session followed by a group discussion. Based on the results of all the three the student is given admission to the university. The results of the same are released by the first or second week of June.
  • For colleges in Delhi and Mumbai, you apply to the colleges individually through the Delhi University and the Mumbai University website portals respectively.

can i do b.ed in psychology even if i didn't graduate in psychology? and what is the current elegibility for Sc/st students?!

Hello Vanya,

Yes you can surely take an admission for this course as the basic eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Sc. (Psychology ) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream.

Also some of the reputed colleges demands a minimum 50% marks in 10+2 as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this degree course.

Hello Vanya,

In order to pursue a course in BA Psychology most of the colleges such as University of Delhi do NOT require that the applicant must have studied psychology in their 10+2. So, yes you can definitely opt for graduation in psychology.
