No, scoring less marks or failing in one subject in your class 12 pre-boards will not directly affect your eligibility criteria for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, or admission to IIST.
Here's why:
Eligibility for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced: These exams have their own specific eligibility criteria based on your qualifying exam (Class 12 board exams) and not your pre-board performance. As long as you meet the minimum marks requirement in your Class 12 boards , you can appear for these exams.
Admission to IIST: IIST considers your JEE Advanced rank for admission to their undergraduate programs. Your pre-board marks do not play any role in the selection process.
However, it's important to remember that:
Pre-boards are a valuable practice tool: They help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, assess your exam preparedness, and get familiar with the exam format. While not directly impacting eligibility, poor performance in pre-boards might indicate areas needing improvement for the actual JEE exams.
Focus on improvement: Use your pre-board results as a learning opportunity. Analyze your mistakes, identify the subjects or topics you struggled with, and work on strengthening your understanding in those areas. This will help you perform better in the actual JEE exams and increase your chances of securing admission to IIST.
Therefore, while pre-board marks are not a deciding factor for eligibility, they can serve as a valuable indicator of your preparation and highlight areas requiring improvement. So, focus on learning from your mistakes and strive to improve your performance in the upcoming exams.

Hi aspirant,
Dont worry at all because the preboard marks are not considered anywhere. The pre boards are held only for students practice and such rumors are commonly spread for students to pay attention at the exams. Your admission at IIST would be completely based upon your performance in the entrance examination and your hardwork. So please believe in yourself and try giving your best to succeed in the examination.
Hope it helps!!
