Hello,

If you are allotted seat in the first preference college then you are not eligible to participate in subsequent rounds. If you are allotted seat in other than first preference but if you do not wish to join in the college then you do not need to report to ARC for document verification and confirm the admission in the allotted college. If you do so the allotted seat will be automatically cancelled and if you do not get seat in subsequent rounds then you cannot claim the previous seat allotment. But if you want to retain the seat and participate in CAP round for betterment then you need to freeze the seat in the portal to accept the seat, report to the ARC for document verification and payment of seat and confirm the admission in the college. This way even if you do not get seat in the higher preference the previous seat will retain.
