The highest package number changes every but the highest for mechanical engineering ranges from 35-40LPA. The average for mechanical engineering is 15-18 LPA and the lowest is 6LPA. It also depends on what type of company you will get, for example there are many mechanical engineering students who get placed in investment banks like Deutche and Barclays and they offer package ranging from 50-70LPA.
