I'm BE MECH with no job experience can I get into SAP modules for fresher's job and which are modules to learn ?
Hello,
As a mechanical engineer, the logical options among SAP applications would be:
1. SAP PP (Production Planning)
2. SAP PM (Plant Maintenance)
3. SAP MM (Materials Management)
As a fresher, you will have lesser options in employment in manufacturing companies as compared to IT, because the manufacturing companies tend to hire people with experience. As you grow in your career as a SAP consultant and gain experience you will have better opportunities to join the core sector.
As for training institutes, there is no guarantee of a 100% placement, both for authorized and non-authorized institutes. SAP authorized training institutes offer placement assistance, where after the successful completion of certification, they send your resume to companies looking for certified freshers and also hold recruitment drives.
Its all about your own desire & choice to take forward with SAP MM or not, but never choose any career related decision by the influence from others or in dilemma. It’s your career , you have to shape it in such a way you want, because no one is perfect to build your desired execution as you expected.
If you strongly decided to go with SAP MM and ready to hare your passion towards business expectations, then just proceed, surely you will fly effortlessly.
SAP MM is an important part in Logistics Area and a finest functional module in SAP ERP, hope you doing a research to get start.SAP MM is a central to Manufacturing & Trading Industries,it forms the internal part of the complete Supply Chain Management.
SAP MM has some core Core functions & some Central functions. Core functions are specific to a specific module. Purchasing [Procurement - Sourcing & Supplying of Materials/Services to be procured] is core of SAP MM, Inventory Management,Valuation [MM-FI Integrations] ,Invoice process, Special form of procurement are the business process rely with SAP MM.
And, you cannot transform yourself into a SAP MM Consultant over a day, it needs consistent efforts in many behaviors like below,
1.Mapping business requirement to SAP capability.
2.Knowledge of SAP module (i.e. MM) both on transaction and configuration (but not only this). you need to learn how to build test scenarios, train users, know integration considerations like cross functional modules like MM-D, MM-FI, MM-PP etcSAP entry level exposure to small / big SAP consulting companies or end client who implemented SAP may be a good target client so you can build this skill.
Hope this may helps you !
