If you want to practice in india then i will suggest for BAMS and you are want to go abroad then BDS is valuable.

Its depends on your interest, if you are more passionate for being a DENTIST then go for BDS.. If you have more intrest in ayurvedic medicine then go for BAMS.. Both have equal apporunities in future..

Both are the different courses & Choosing a course totally depends on your interest. If you are interested in Ayurvedic medicine you should choose BAMS and if you interested in dentistry you can go for BDS.

After completing the programme BAMS, Many organizations are working in the manufacturing and research field in abroad are requiring the professional in this field. The candidate having the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree is eligible to be called as a doctor and eligible to do the private practice. BDS is the educational programme for the Dental Surgery in India. In this course, the students learn & taught about the denture, dental problems and surgery. After completing this course you will be hired by the Medical colleges, Hospitals etc.

Now you can comare both the fields as per your interest.

Good Luck!

Hello Sanchi,

I would suggest you to go with your interest. Both are differnt fields and are not related to each other, one involves surgery and other involves knowledge of ayurvedic medicine. So choose that in which you are intrested. Here are the few difference between the two of them:

BDS

  • If you are intrested in surgery and ready to treat oral problems by your hands.
  • If you have min 12–15 lkh for degree and 20 lakhs for your clinic after completing degree.
  • If you are ready to comptet with so many stabilized dentists in your region or city.
  • You can earn 20,000–30,000p.m. as fresher on an evg and 50,000–80,000 p.m.after MDS or stabilized and famous in your city.
  • There is also a little chance to get govt. Job .

BAMS

  • If you are intrested in traditional indian system of medicine.
  • If you are ready to deal with different and somewhat difficult languages like sanskrit .
  • People's take ayurveda as a alternative of allopathy or for long lasting diseases
  • If you want to spend less and get tag of doctor( whereas bams is more difficult then BDS) or you have background related to it.
  • You can earn 15000–25000 p.m. as a fresher and 40,000–80,000 p.m. aftet MD. , MS. Or got selected in psc for gov job.
  • Chances to get gov job is more as compared to BDS. You can become medical officer
  • You can also join teaching in bams colleges
  • More famous in south india and also attract foreigners . Our gov also promote it.

You can also think about MBA after both BDS or BAMS. In hospital management or other branches.

Hope it helped you!!

Thank you
