Your category rank depends on number of total candidates appeared, normalised score, top score, number of candidates in your category etc. It will not remain the same every year because the number of candidates appeared and top score changes every year. If the last year category rank and this year category rank changes then the cut off will also change. We cannot say if it is advantage or disadvantage as it depends on the above mentioned factors and the numbers change every year.
