Hello,
Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu will conduct Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling for admission into UG Engineering courses. The admission is based on marks scored in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. JEE Main score isn't considered for admission so there will not be any weightage given for JEE Main score. Candidates must score minimum 60% marks in PCM and 50% marks in English. General category candidates must score minimum 50% in each subject for MBC/DNC/SC/SCA/ST category candidates it is 40% marks in each subject and for Backward Classes including BC Muslim category candidates it is 45% marks in each subject.
Greetings,
In universities that take admission through exams other than JEE the merit score of that respective exam is considered for counselling unless that university also accepts JEEs cores for admissions. In the case of Anna University that admits students on the basis of TNEA exam merit, having a JEE score will not add an advantage during the counselling.
good day
