In KPTCL exam for AE. everyone one have to give kannada test or only those who didn't study kannada as a language.

For applying to the post of Assistant Engineer(electrical) the requisite qualification for the candidate is that they should have a Degree in Electrical Engineering or Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering of any recognised University or pass in AMIE Sections A&B (Electrical) and the eligibility criteria for it is a minimum of 60% marks obtained in the Final year if the Exams are held on annual basis. If the same is on Semester basis, the marks obtained in last two semesters. For other categories this cut off may vary. The selection procedure for the candidates will be based on online aptitude test that will be conducted. The aptitude test consists of 75 marks of technical syllabus and 25 marks of general awareness/aptitude.
Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) and Assistant Engineer(Electrical and civil) should have passed :
1)SSLC examination with Kannada as a language
(Or)
2)Any examination higher that SSLC with Kannada as ist language or 2 nd language.
(or)
3)Studied and passed in Kannada medium.
Candidates who have not studied Kannada and does not meet the above mentioned criteria should take a Kannada Language Test which will be held before the aptitude test. It is a 150 marks test and the minimum marks required for the candidates is 50 marks. Only those candidates who pass the Kannada language test are only eligible to appear for the common aptitude test.
