Hi reader ,
suppose you are alloted a seat in 1st round of counselling of Maharashtra and you opt for upgradation then there may be following possibilities.
1) if your seat does not get upgraded then you will retain the seat alloted to you in round 1 and will be joining that
2) if you seat does get upgraded then you will be joining the upgraded college in round 2. in this scenario the seat alloted to you in round 1 will stand null and void and you would not be able to go back to that seat.
i hope this helps
for knowing your chances of getting a college you can refer

thank you
if you want to apply for upgradation. don't fill the status retention form.therefore you would be automatically counted for 2nd round.
1.if you are allotted a college in 2nd round. which is higher in preference than the current first round allotted college.then you will have to take admission in the 2nd round allotted college.as the first round one stands null and void.
2.if you don't get a seat allotted.then your first round college would stay genuine. then it's up to you to decide.if you want to fill the status retention form i.e confirm the admission or wait for the mop up round.
I hope this helps you.
wishing you the very best for succeeding rounds.
Hello Aspirant,
See if a seat allotted to you in round 1st and you apply for an upgradation then once you have allotted an upgraded seat then the seat allotted in round 1st will automatically be cancelled, then you will have to either accept an upgraded seat or get exit with forfeiture of your security deposit. But in case if you do not get upgraded seat in round 2nd then you will have option to join the seat allotted in round 1st of NEET Counselling.
