Mechanical engineering is one of the most preferred and core streams of engineering education. It is the one and only course that gives you a plethora of options in terms of making a career in the field of your own choice. It is one exclusive branch that opens the doors for a student to make their career in the field of their own choice. Mechanical engineers are professionals needed in almost all sectors. Also, these courses are in very high demand in the job market. When you compare mechanical engineering to other engineering streams, it has a large scope in terms of choice, growth and earnings. A mechanical engineer can work in machine based industries, computer hardware and software industries, petroleum industries, electronics industries, aircraft industries, banking industry, etc., since there is a demand of mechanical engineers in every sector. It is a field that will never experience a recession.
Computer engineering is the study of the theoretical foundations of information technology, its computation, implementation and application in computer systems. Computer science gives a lot of emphasize on fields like graphic designing, programming language theory and various other computation technology. In the past couple of years, IT sector has been growing rapidly and today it is one of the largest booming sectors in India. The pay scale and jobs available in this sector is very high. Chemical engineering involves the study of designing, maintaining and operation of large scale machinery, industrial plants and chemical processing for the production of various products like fibers, fabrics, paints, medical drugs, biomaterials, gasoline, lubricants, etc. No doubt that chemical engineering stream is limited to certain fields only, but they are very well paid individuals. By completing this course, one can get employment in companies like Reliance Industries Ltd., Cairn India, Tata chemicals, etc.
Electronic engineering is also a good career option. By completing your graduation in electronics and communication, one can make a career in the telecommunication industry, consumer electronics, IT industry, healthcare equipment manufacturing industry, mobile communication, etc. An electronics engineer has a lot of scope in Government, as well as private organizations like All India Radio, Indian Telephone Industry, Civil Aviation, Post and Telegraph department, etc.
