Industrial and production eng vs instrument and control engineering which is best in nit jalandhar
NIT Jalandhar is a Central funded college of modest ranking. The infra shd be pretty decent, although I have not been there.
Both the subjects you have mentioned are equally good and offer longterm prospects.
Prodn Engg will involve extensive and rigorious studies of drawing, machines, mechanics, materials and mech engg. There will be diverse topics to study incl Costing, Mgmt Principles, Workstudy, etc.
I and C would include electronics, microprocessors, Computers, Physics and Wireless related applications.A very good knowledge and knack of Physics and Maths would be reqd.
So it totally depends on your interest..
I hope it will help you
Good luck...
Hi Deepak,
NIT Jalandhar is a decent college. Both the branches are non-core so placement wise both are almost same. You'll have to do masters to get a decent paying job or qualify GATE. If you're getting both in NIT Jalandhar, I would suggest you to go with Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Instrumentation Engg. has a better scope than PIE in Industries. PIE is a derivative of mechanical engineering and can be called as a subset of mechanical Engg. Instrumentation and Control is a very specialized branch, it is generally considered an offshoot to EEE.
All the best
