Hi Sahin!

Some students pursuing MBBS(mostly who have cleared it last year) are somehow concluding that this year's paper was easier than last year so cut offs will peak to 500+! According to few more since 3k students have increased this year and almost all of the last yr Bengali medium students have dropped so somehow they'll outshine the English language exam giving droppers and so the cut off will increase definitely and the safe zone will be 490–495.

Now if you ask me I’ll go by none of the predictions done as mentioned above since

  • The paper was definitely difficult than last year be it Chemistry or Physics. And Physics marks have definitely taken toll on the total score even of the toppers.
  • 3k students in WB have definitely increased but it is impossible that these students are only going to be the ones who are going to alter the cut off drastically.
  • And the Bengali dropper students from last yr?I can guarantee its just a rumour that almost none of them got selected last yr so this yr they're going to give a tough competition and are going to excel even the English medium droppers in a bulk.Because NCERT is not a cake walk for anybody who's new to it and specially with the available span of less than a yr!
  • So your question must be if these factors are going to affect anything or not. Ofcourse it will affect and result would be the cut off would not fall this yr inspite of the paper being difficult.
  • So according to me the cut off is either going to be the same or maximum it'll have a 10 marks hike
  • So if not in the 1st counselling in the second counselling 470+ is going to fetch you a gov seat.

So lastly I would recommend you to turn deaf ears to all the rumours and predictions going around which are out of the box and doesn't go by any logic.

Nobody has the power to predict the exact thing that is going to happen so the best option is to hope for the best and wait for the results.

So just don't be demotivated and don't be affected by anybody who's making you feel low on the basis of mere assumptions. The results will itself tell everything TILL THEN RELAX AND HOPE FOR THE BEST! *FINGERS CROSSED*
