Yes dear. A BTech graduate is eligible for law course. But remember this is totally switch department course. BTech is totally technological line. And law is totally differ from it. You have to know philosophy, current affairs, law and ethics for this. And you have to up to date in every law or new abundant in law study.

If you switch your department after BTech then you can do LLB. Which is for 3 years course. And this course need minimum any graduation degree which 3 years or four years. And 5 years course is for BA LLB and only 12th passed result minimum require.

Law is one such discipline where candidates from all backgrounds are allowed in the sense that there is no such barrier of belonging to any specific stream, law programs are of two types, the five-years duration is integrated law program such as BA-LLB, BBA-LLB, BCom-LLB, BCA-LLB, BSc-LLB to name a few and this is based on the eligibility criteria of passed 10+2 from a recognized board with 45%, since you're already a BTech graduate hence you can pursue LLB for a duration of three years, its eligibility criteria is passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with 45-50% aggregate, universities like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Allahabad University etc conduct their own entrance exams, and we also have state level law exams for three years program as well such as TS LAWCET in Telangana, AP LAWCET in Andhra Pradesh, KLEE in Kerala, MAH CET LAW in Maharastra etc, in some cases like The Tamil Nadu Dr BR Ambedkar University admission is also done on the basis of the merit of the qualifying exam.

Yes of course you can study whatever you want. Owing to the fact that pursuing higher education in law is not restricted to only the students of a certain academic background, several combinations and specialisations have come up in the stream at every level.

But there are many points that you should remember :

• Admission to some law colleges is done through direct admission on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination but some institutions consider entrance examinations for shortlisting students.
• You will have to find out which selection process is adopted by the colleges they have selected and depending on that, they will have to appear for a particular law entrance exam.
• You must have scored passing marks in all your subject and your degree must be recognised by AICTE.
• Since B.Tech graduates already have a bachelor’s degree, they can apply for admission to Bachelor of Law (LL.B) instead of going for an integrated law course.
