Biochemical Engineering is an essential application of chemical engineering, however it is not in core subjects in chemical engineering , you may take bio chemical engineering as an optional on chemical engineering course, gate exam is one of the toughest exam for master of technology admission conducts by iits, if you follow the chemical engineering syllabus of gate, you will have an basic idea of subjects in chemical engineering,
