Hello, Arpan.

First of all if you are planning to enroll in BSC  then stop. You need to understand all aspects of it before proceeding to apply for the course.

In a simple way I want to say that BSc IT is a good to learn but not good to earn.

This is so because you are in India where degree is given more importance then amount of knowledge you have.

As we compare this with the most similar course which is BTech , then in comparison you will have to give much less time in completing this course then that of a BTech student.

BTech is a 4 year course where as BSc IT is a 3 year course also in which the classes will be shorter than BTech. But this is also true that you will get to learn even more than that.

The fee in BSC IT is comparatively very less which is around 25000 per year for 3 years ( 75000 in total ).

Bsc IT is a professional course, where is BTech is a traditional course. In Btech you will learn so many useless things which are not going to help you in future. But the subjects in BSC IT will be more practical.

You will have a lot of spare time which you  can utilise in other works. Subjects which are more practical as i said will make studying it much interesting.

There are a lot of benefits in doing Bsc IT but then also I would recommend not of pursuing it .

The main reason behind it is that you are in India, and here the skills are always kept aside in front of deegree.

A BTech student having the same level of knowledge as of a BSc IT student can have double the package then them, and the only thing you will be left with will be to regret.

The only condition remains that if you are from a family having not or very weak financial position then one should go for it.

So if you have a chance then go for BTech or any other course because the salary which you will get will be not sufficient comparing to the effort you will have to put.

So the conclusion is that either you look forward for similar traditional course like B.Tech or be prepared to do MSc. IT just after completing B.Sc. IT. It will give you better future. All the best.

Dear Arpan,

It totally depends on your interest in a any particular field. The Bsc IT is a degree with institutions conferring degrees in the fields of information technology and related fields. This degree is awarded for completing a program of study in the field of software development, software testing, software engineering , web design, database , programming , computer networking and computer systems.

If you are interested in these fields then you should definitely go for it .

Thank you
