Hello Aspirant!
There were various factors in Engineering which decides Dual course better or not. It also differ according to the stream selection in Engineering. I think the dual-degree programs are fantastic, but why go for an early commitment. And if the MTech part of the dual degree is in a specialized area, that should be avoided. When students don't even know the difference between Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, asking them to commit that they will work on "Power" or "Wireless" or "VLSI" after three or four years is simply ridiculous.
But there were certain benefits of pursuing dual degree:
With advantages there are various disadvantages like: Short-Term Cost ,Real World Experience Still Helpful ,Intense Studying ,Putting a Professional Career on Hold. So it differ from person to person , what they want to purse in there life.
Thank You!
Hello Aspirant,
Firstly select the institutions which offer dual degree. If you see that combination is of any use, you can see if the institutions have the same ranking as IITs. You should prefer higher rank institutions for dual degree. Some degree combination like chemistry and mechanical engineering for example may not help you in the long run. Other degree will help you gain knowledge only. This is my suggestion that you choose wisely.
Let me give you the difference on dual course and integrated course
Dual degree: Both the degree (B.Tech an M. Tech) are studieed separately, you will get a B. Tech Degree after 4 year course and then a M. Tech Degree after 2 year course.
Whereas for integrated course, both the degrees will be available after pursuing a 5 year course for B. Tech + M. Tech.
Best wishes
Thanks
