In simple words, food science (or food technology) deals with the manufacturing, processing, treatment, preservation, and distribution of food. Food Science, Food Technology & Food Engineering Though Food Science Food Engineering and Food Technology are very overlapping, there are few subtle differences. Food Technology : Fire can be used to cook food. Food Science : Burning wood produces heat, water, and carbon dioxide. Heat denatures proteins in food. Food Engineering : Building a fireplace and chimney makes it easier to cook with fire without filling the room with smoke.
