Look to prepare for the CBSE board exam, you might not even require HC Verma. But when you are preparing for some competitive exams, you might require this book.
However HC Verma of Physics is famous for its conceptual numericals. This book do not have detailed theory of any particular topic. So it means you might require some other book for theoretical reading.
Physics by Pradeep, S.Chand some of the good books recommend by many students.
You still can use HC.verma book for solving numericals. But keep in mind that read one book properly is more important than collecting many books. So I would suggest you to pick one book which has  theoritical as well as good numericals and study it properly, that will be sufficient.
Additionally you can but 'Together with' to prepare for CBSE boards. But use it for revision purpose.
