Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat is an Institute of National Importance established under the Act of Parliament 2017, by erstwhile Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, on not-for-profit and in Public-Private-Partnership basis.  It is a young institution which aims at catering the needs of the Information Technology Industry. It serves as one of the 20 IIITs in the country of national importance. The Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat is set up by the Government of India with the method of Private-Public-Partnership (PPP).
