Hi aspirant,
IITs and NITs are centrally funded institutes and the premier institutes of India. They provide the following tution fee waiver to different categories of students based on their annual family income.
The SC, ST and PH category candidates need not to produce family income certificate for claiming these tution fee waiver. While on the other hand, general and OBC candidates need to produce their annual family income certificate to claim these tution fee waiver.
Except general category Students all other need to produce their caste certificate in the format available on JoSAA website.
Hope it helps you.
Hello Aspirant,
SC,ST students are tuition fee waivers. So, there's no need of carrying any income certificate. But one needs to submit their caste certificate certified by government and it's also better to carry the caste certificate in the required format ( as per JOSAA business rules ) . And also check twice whether you're carrying all the specified documents or else it may lead you to problems with which you will be paying all the amount!
Hope it help you.
All the best!!!!!!
