Hello Aspirant
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study graduate and postgraduate medical courses and dental courses in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India. NEET is a very important exam for all the medical students as it guarantees their seats in various colleges across the country.
The value attached to the scores of NEET makes it very important. You can skip one a year and attempt the exam next year.
But the advice here is that you attempt the exam this year too. The exam allows three attempts. You will get an idea of the question paper and what kind of questions are asked in the exam. You can prepare through the NCERT books and by solving previous years question papers.
If you are keen on getting admission in top reputed colleges across the country and you are not able to secure a good NEET score then you can skip one year for preparing better for the next year’s exam. You can also look for admissions in colleges that fit according to your profile, This is your call. It depends on the time and effort you are willing to sacrifice for your passion (the degree you want to pursue).
It is not better to drop a year for NEET without trying for this year. The exam this year is around the first week of MAY.
Best of Luck!
