It's not like that. Your curriculum has already mentioned the subject list or the domain you will study. SO you have to choose according to it. Ther are some elective papers you have to select that.

colleges like Aligarh Muslim Univeristy and Banaras hindu university needs these subjects as main subject in your curriculum.

So it differs from college to college. It should be in your studies as main subject.
