is it compulsory to take 5 subjects for CBSE improvement for JEE main of less than 5 also taken

No it's not necessary now...the subject in which your marks are somewhat less,you can appear for improvement exam of that subject....

Hi,
This depends upon why you are giving improvement. If you are giving improvement so that your class 12 percentage gets to be 75%, then you can give improvement in one or 5 subjects. For eg, if your percentage is say 70% or 73%, it makes sense to give the exam in the subject in which you got less marks and not all the others. However if you wish to be in the top 20 percentile of your state then you have to give improvement in all 5 subjects.
