JEE is an entrance examination for ENGINEERING courses in renowned institutions like IITs, NITs, and other GFTIs. Some private colleges also accept JEE Rank for admission in BE/Btech degree.

JEE has two parts. Jee mains and jee advanced. One has to clear JEE mains in order to sit for jee advanced. NITs only accept Jee Mains score where as IITs only accept JEE advanced score. But it is necessary to clear jee mains to sit for jee advanced exam.

For medical courses there are other enterance examinations like NEET & AIIMS,JIPMER,etc.

Hope it helps. Cheers.
