Is Migration certificate and Transfer certificate are same?

Hi aspirant

No, don't get in this confusion, they both are not same. Consider these two examples and you will get to know the difference between them:

  • Suppose you want to change your board, like from CBSE to something else then in that case the Education Board in which you are currently in ( in this case, CBSE ), will issue a certificate stating that you are changing your board. The same happens when you try to change a college or university. This is Migration Certificate
  • And now suppose you are leaving your school or some institution, then this certificate called the Transfer Certificate will be issued by the Institution or the school stating the necessary information.
