is mtech students in NITs are allowed to Software company placements

Yeah they do allow dear!! while you even have PG certificate from NIT where as they will allow you in the scene if you know any of 2 coding languauges like C,C++,JAVA, python such things but the sadest part is you if you are a fresher in the IT feild they hire you at low package
