You have an average profile of 7,7,7. If you have an ambition of pursuing MBA degree from top MBA colleges like IIMs and some good private colleges then you need to aim for a very high percentile in CAT exam.
Because after CAT exam every college including IIM in which you have applied makes a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT which is based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer, gender and extra curriculars with different weightages for different colleges.
In this academic marks and work experience together has a weightage of 15-30%. So to cover up this loss you need to score a little higher percentile than the cut-off.
If you get into second round then with an excellent performance you can ensure your admission because interview and WSAT marks which along with CAT marks have highest weightage in final merit list.
But honestly even after getting in top college you will face problem during both intern and final placements season because most of the companies shortlist students for further process on the basis of your CV and definitely looks for your 10th 12th and graduation percentage.
All the best!!
