NIT DURGAPUR is one of the oldest NIT among 31 other NITs. It is among the first 8 Regional Engineering Colleges established in India and was founded in 1960. And has been recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institute of Technology Act, 2007.

Hello,
Yes, actually it is considered to be among the top NIts for Engineering courses.You can get admission there on the basis of jee mains rank and you need to have 75% aggregate ( for general category student) or 65% aggregate ( for sc/st category student) or your marks needs to be under top 20 percentile of your respective board in class 12th in order to become eligible for admission.
