No you need to first have Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Certificate to possess the AME which is the main license.

The eligibility requirements for AME are as follows:

• Applicant shall not be less than 21 years of age.
• Applicant must have passed 10+2 examination.
• Must have passed all 4 papers on specific aircraft engines and maintenance.
• Must pass oral cum practical examination.
• Shall produce a medical certificate from MBBS and must not have colour blindness or other physical disability.
• Shall possess minimum practical experience of 4 years.
