Is there any difference between the difficulty level of paper based and computer based MAT?
Hello Aspirant,
Hope you are doing well.
The most significant difference is the date of the exam, which means you will have a few extra days in CBT (computer based exam)..
However, to be really honest with you, I would like to recommend that you use the offline mode... The reason is that, in cbt mode, system failures or sudden system shutdowns are extremely infrequent, and thus results in the inefficient use of time!!
CBT has only one advantage, which is that because this exam is conducted in offline mode, you can get feedback on your performance. However, there is a disadvantage, which is that the system is having technical difficulties.
MAT CBT Mode
The CBT form of the MAT 2021 examination is an abbreviation for Computer Based Test and is more commonly referred to as the online mode of assessment. Examinees must take the examination on a computer at the authorised testing centre under the observation of invigilators and closed-circuit television cameras. The following are the primary characteristics of the MAT CBT mode:
- It ensures that you get the most out of your endeavours because you have an on-screen clock to help you better manage your time.
- Candidates can mark and study questions that they are unsure about, and they can refer back to them at a later time.
- When candidates want rough sheets for rough work, they are free to use as many as they need.
- There is a possibility of technological difficulties; however, there will be a large number of technical supervisors available to assist you with the problems.
- Due to the fact that the exam will be held at the exam centres, candidates must bring a hand sanitizer and a mask to the exam hall, as well as the necessary documentation.
The PBT MAT Mode
The PBT mode of the MAT 2021 is an abbreviation for Paper-Based Test, and it is conducted offline at the MAT test centres that have been established. The candidate will be provided with a Question Booklet as well as an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) Answer Sheet for the examination. Candidates must fill in the circles with a pencil (HB Pencil) to indicate which option they choose to pursue. The following are some of the most important characteristics of the MAT PBT mode:
- Because there are no computer systems in use, there are no prospects of a technological failure.
- Candidates can attempt whatever question they wish without wasting time switching between displays, as is the case with online modes of examination.
- If the applicant has to make a modification to any of his answers, he must totally erase the one that has already been marked and darken the new option with the pencil.
- It is important for the applicant to be cautious when filling out the oval because a half-filled oval and a double-filled oval will be regarded incorrect responses, and no marks will be awarded for those answers.
- Additional rough sheets will not be provided to candidates, with the exception of a blank space at the conclusion of the question booklet. Therefore, make effective use of available rough space.
- At the exam centre, candidates must adhere to all of the COVID-19 rules and regulations.
Hope you got the answer to your question. Incase of any queries, feel free to question. Have a great day!
