Is there any information regarding competition for fashion technology for admission

Since the admission to Fashion Technology courses is done through institute-specific entrances conducted by different universities, the underlying competition is different for different courses and colleges. Some colleges are highly coveted like NIFT, while some newly created institutes are getting up there.

Coming to your question, generally, these institutes do not release the data of the number of students who appeared for their entrance examination, which corresponds to the competition therein for admission to a particular course. However, an estimate of the competition for a particular college/course can be gauged through newspaper reports. In order to gain an assessment of the underlying competition in every institute, our counsellors file RTI from time to time in order to gain an exact idea of the number.

For instance, the data issued by NIFT reveals that in 2017 a total of 21,994 students appeared for NIFT examination, out of which 7,727 students qualified for admission to about 2k (B.Des. and B.F.Tech) seats.
