Hello.

As you know in order to get into MBBS one has to crack the various netional level and state level exams. The course for MBBS and nursing are not the same and one cannot get a lateral entry like that. The candidate must go through the entrance process and get qualified in order to get into MBBS.

  • Minimum aggregate marks: General category aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination with 45% marks, while for SC/ST/OBC the minimum marks should be 40%

Hi

There's no provision of lateral entry in mbbs, it doesn't matter even if you are in 2nd year bsc nursing or have completed bsc nursing.

So, even after bsc nursing you will have to take the same route of qualifying neet as of that of class 12th student.

Here's how you can do mbbs

------------------) Appear in Neet examination

  • To be eligible one must pass 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got at least  50  % in aggregate of PCB  i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology /biotechnology in 12th examination  if belongs to general category , or   at least  40%  in aggregate of PCB if belongs to  Obc/ Sc /st category. Also, needs to be at least 17 years old as on 31st December of the year of appearing for neet. No age limit is there as of now. You can get complete eligibility criteria details at https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-eligibility-criteria

------------------) Qualify neet examination. Qualifying cut off in neet is given below

  • General :- 50th Percentile

  • OBC:-  40th Percentile

  • SC :-40th Percentile

  • ST :-  40th percentile

To be on the safer side, out of 720 marks, target at least around 575 - 625 marks for state quota mbbs seats and 650 marks in neet for All india quota mbbs seats if you belong to general category to get a seat in a Government Medical College

------------------) Participate in neet counselling. There are 2 counsellings -

  • Mcc counselling :- It is conducted for 15% AIQ seats, 100% Deemed Universities seats, Central Universities  seats (Delhi University, AMU & BHU ), 100% ESIC seats , AFMC  seats (only Registration Part) & I.P University (VMMC & SJH AND ABVIMS & RML & ESIC Dental, Delhi ,100% AIIMS seats & 100% JIPMER seats

Detailed information about counselling is available at

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-seat-allotment

------------------) In the counselling, you can get a seat in a college on the basis of your rank in NEET examination and the category you belong to .

------------------) Then you have to report to the college and get your documents verified.

------------------)  After document verification, finally you get admission in mbbs in college

------------------)  Pursue your mbbs which is a 5.5 year long course in which the last 1 year consists of internship and after the completion of mbbs you become a doctor and can practice.
