So VIT has always been one of the sought after colleges in India after the tier 1 colleges. So, the next question that comes up is which one? Well to be honest that would very based on your requirements. Vellore Campus is the oldest one and has its own niche due to the same fact. It has a huge campus and lot of places to see and multiple departments. But due to the exact same fact, you will be joining a campus that accomodates more than 10,000 students from one batch itself. If you want a smaller crowd, and dont want the strain of running to different blocks that are very far away for different subjects to attend classes ( It is a fact), then Chennai is a better option to you. Chennai campus offers you a lesser crowd and therefore the individual attention that you may need can be achieved. Moreover, Vellore campus doesnt have much outside its campus while Chennai, as you know, is a metropolitian city. All curriculum based comparisions are at par as the campuses follow a common curriculum. Both the campuses also follow the same schedule, exams and placements. The Chennai Campus being slightly newer, you wouldn't face the issues of old rooms/blocks. On the other hand as mentioned before Vellore is a more established campus and therefore get its perks. I am from Chennai campus and personally, this place is a good choice coming to the fact that you have more options for initiatiives, and getting your voice heard. That being said, I could be a part of an amazing community in chennai campus called the Hack Club (one of the initiatives as is said before) which also happens to be an international community where all of the student get to learn, upskill, network and code together as well. It provides wonderful workshops, hackathons and events to help its community grow too. This is also the reason as the crowd is less over here. For all other information regarding joining, you can be a part of the groups started by the seniors : Whatsapp group for freshers joining in 2020 (https://chat.whatsapp.com/EUUHYdnuE9TG16SFqPBBU1)
