It has very vast scope in abroad where as in India it's less. But if you have good knowledge of chemical engineering than its not difficult for you to get job in Chemical engineering. If you got Chemical engineering seat at IIT/ NIT/BITS thancyiu don't worry at all bcz most of the chemical engineering companies in India recruit engineers from these institutions. But you should have good Kbowledge of concepts.
Chemical engineer Can work in any field. It has vast scope. You can work in pharamaceuticals industries, fertilizer industries, power plants, alcohol industries, Energy sector, designing, chemical industries, research field, consulting companies, management industries etc.
You can work in private as well as public sector. Many public companies recruit Chemical engineers through gate. The most of the private sector companies recruit Chemical engineers from top institutions that are IITs, BITs, NIT, IIIT only. The starting packages in the public sector companies is higher than some private sector companies. But the growth in public sector is steady where as in private sector the growth is exponential you will get very good package after 4-5 experience in private sector which is much higher than public sector companies.
Some private sector companies like schlumberger , trident, Hindustan Unilever limited etc pay very higher salaries to Chemical engineers fresher. But they higher students only from IIT/NITs/BITS etc.

There is a good job scope in chemical engineering if you are pass out from top colleges like IITs and NITs.
There is less job opportunities in chemical branch in comparison of CSE.
To get a job in chemical branch you need to work hard, perform good in your course you should have good knowledge of the subject and you should possess desired skills.
