MNS(Military Nursing Services) is itself a reputed branch of the Indian Army. Candidates are selected on the basis of the Entrance exam followed by the interview and Medical Checkup. Thousands of aspirants apply for this exam and the seats are only120-220 every year. Upon completing the Nursing courses, candidates are commissioned as an Army Officer and are allocated to different wings of the Army. It is itself a very big scope and has dignity and prestige associated with it. Being a officer in the army is not a small thing. MNS officers have their assistants working under them for looking after the patients. It is a very noble profession and the pay scale and advantages being a officer is tremendous.
