my brother is in IIT Bombay he is doing b.tech so he can do 5yers CA ALSO
Answer (1)
Obviously , It is possible to pursue CA along side with BTech.
The general eligibility for CA is :
1) The candidate must have passed 10+2 from any branch.
2) The candidate must have qualified Common proficiency Test organised by Institute of Chatered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Now , doing BTech from IIT is a challenge in itself. As there are exams ,viva,Assignements and practically students have to study hard to keep pace with the college. So doing it along side BTech will be tough enough to manage. And there will be a need of high interest in the subject. So it would be more preferable for your brother to study CA after BTech because CA is also a tough exam in itself. And it will need a lot of dedicated time. So keeping both in the same pace will very hard. This is completely my point of view , there can be exceptional opinnion possible.
I hope my answer helps you. Good eve!
