Following is the criteria for availing domicile status in Telangana-
If they have studied in a school/ college in the local area for a minimum period of 4 consecutive year, immediately preceding the year they appear for the relevant qualifying examination
If they have resided in the local area for a minimum period of 4 consecutive years, immediately preceding the year they appear for the relevant qualifying examination
A candidate who is not regarded as a local candidate under the above criteria, and has studied in educational institutions in the State for a minimum period 7 consecutive academic years, ending with the year they apply for NEET, may be considered local in relation to:
The local area where they have studied for the maximum no. of years out of the said 7 years
Their period of study in the two local areas is equal
They have not studied in any Educational Institutions in the state, but have resided in any local area/ or two local areas (for equal time) for a minimum period of 7 consecutive years.
For 15% unreserved-
Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding periods of study outside the state or their parent/s have resided in the State for a total period of ten years excluding periods of employment outside the State.
Candidates whose parent/s are in the employment of the state or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, local bodies, Universities, and Educational Institutions, and other similar quasi-public institutions within the state.
Candidates whose spouses’ are employees of the state or Central Government, Public Sector corporations, local bodies, Universities and Educational institutions recognized by the Government or University or other competent authority and similar other quasi- Government Institutions within the state
If your daughter fulfills any of the above criteria, she is eligible for the state quota, otherwise would be considered an NRI.
