my daughter is oci card holder, but living in Hyderabad and have been studying in Hyderabad , india from 5th grade onwards . will she be eligible for telangana state quota for MBBS seat?. will she be eligible for 15% AIQ ?.
Hi Aspirant,
MBBS ( Bachelor of Medicines and Bachelor of Science) course duration is of 5.5 years which includes 4.5 years of academic studies and 1 year of internship to complete the whole program. MBBS program has hugh demand in india and limited seats are available in medical colleges across the country. The only entrance exam for all medical programs such as MBBS/BDS/BVsc is NEET( National Eligibility Entrance Test). Some private institutions have their own entrance exam for medical admission.
As your daughter holds OCI card( overseas citizen of india), very less seats are available for NRI and OCI Management category. it varies state wise. The minimum eligibility for MBBS Admissions are.
- 10+2 Passed with minimum percentage(50% for general category) in Science stream and with biology as mandate subject.
- NEET examination.
your daughter is studying in india since 5th grade she is eligible to write NEET exam and also fall under 15% AIQ, But they will have to produce relevant documents while applying in NEET and during the time of counselling. Documents required for OCI students are...
- OCI Card
- Passport
- Domicile
- 10 and 12th marksheet
- Valid Address proof
- NEET 2021 Scorecard
- A hard copy of online application form with passport size photograph.
- NOC from ministry of external affairs and permission from the country to study.
- Migration and health certificate.
15% seats are reserved for NRI and OCI quota. you can easily get admission in MBBS college in Telangana state. But focus main on NEET Exams scores as admission for OCI's and NRI's are done on merit rank basis because of high management quota competition. Hope you find this information useful. All the best for your career.
Thanks & Good Luck!..
