See in general if you have anything to do in admission to institutes then it can be a minor 5% problem but if you have nothing like that then you may not have to worry about it. But if you wish to apply for passports or for government jobs or for any other verification purpose then it can cause you problems.so its better for you to correct it.
Now my personal opinion is that we shouldn't leave any mistake and just ignore it. May be it will not cause any problems, but if it then we have to hasle a lot. So I would recommend if you have time then you should consider it for correction. For correction you have to contact your school and they will guide you out.

Yes, It is going to be a problem at some point of time for example if you want to make a passport then you need the identification details of your parents also and there are various forms for exams and others where they can ask your parents identification details and if the spelling differs then it can create a problem for sure. So its best that you do a affidavit and change the name as soon as possible.
